Following reports of Galaxy S III smartphone users in UK complaining about an unresponsive lockscreen, battery issues after updating to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Samsung UK has now temporarily suspended the update. Following our previous reports, some of our readers in India let us know they too were facing issues with their Android 4.3 upgrade.

Samsung released the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III earlier this month. However, soon there were reports suggesting that some Galaxy S III smartphone users were complaining about an unresponsive handset, particularly the lockscreen, after updating the smartphone; erratic Wi-Fi connectivity; poor battery backup, and a system hanging problem that required the battery to be pulled out to restart the smartphone. Other issues with Galaxy S III after the Android 4.3 update include wake up lag; Bluetooth issues while audio playback in car; issues with music playback via Samsung's music app, and poor RAM management.

Samsung Mobile UK has released an official statement to Sammobile about the issues with Galaxy S III Android 4.3 update and said, "As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S III 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility."

As per the report, Samsung has pulled back the update via FOTA and Samsung's desktop app, KIES. Samsung has not given an exact time frame for the release of new Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S III.

On Monday, Samsung Galaxy Note II's Android 4.3 firmware for India was leaked. As per the report, Samsung will be updating the core UI elements of the Galaxy Note II to match the Galaxy S4 and Note 3's interface. Further, the update for the phablet would add new features like Samsung KNOX and Samsung Wallet. The update would also make the Galaxy Note II phablet compatible with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. However, the South Korean major is yet to release the update for Galaxy Note II officially.

Earlier this month, a report indicated that the Galaxy Note II phablets are being updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean via service centres in India.
