The announcement made by LinkedIn on its blog stated that users would be able to log into Outlook using their LinkedIn credentials. This will allow them to view profile information like photos and status updates of other users who email them.

Moreover, a user's LinkedIn information will be merged with Outlook's contact cards. The blog also mentioned that LinkedIn is working closely with the software giant on a new LinkedIn for Outlook application for the new Office app store. More details will be revealed soon.

The business-networking site recently rolled out its redesigned homepage resembling the likes of Facebook and Google+ with the aim to offer users with more relevant news and information based on their industry and connections.
