  • Its only the looks and name.
Rajiv Yandamuri (May 20, 2014) on Gadgets 360
I was pretty disappointed with this mobile, the name might sound galactic but it ends there. Let us have a look of what are good... 1) The name. 2) ....(I can't think of any!) why?? The battery is awful, have to recharge it for every 5-6 Hrs. and that is when it is in idle and just on 2G and WiFi. Navigation is poor. For a mobile which is costing around 1.4k and running ICS, it would be better if it has a more memory or atleast the option to move the apps to SD card, but the 1GB of memory is only enough to use a limited apps. A whack job of mobile which leaves the users with nothing but regret.

Rahul Joshi (May 28, 2014) on Gadgets 360
this is a very good phone if u dont want want too many BIG apps. otherwise this phone will hang.but otherwise it is a very good phone. battery life is a bit less. features are very good. display is very good, touch is also very good and the best one, design is excellent. the official facebook app will make this phone to hang a lot.It comes with 700 mb ram so samsung could bring a kit kat update or at least the jelly bean.

  • good phone but not best
Midhun Kumar (May 15, 2014) on Gadgets 360
Build quality:- 3.5/5 --> Build quality is good same like other Samsung other galaxy series.. Processor:- 3/5--> Processor is ok. sometimes Lag or hang because of low ram but most of the times it is working fine. Camera:- 4/5 --> Camera for this mobile is quite good at day time but night time with flash you can take good pictures. Video recording is also good. Touch response:- 3.5/5 --> Touch response is quite good(butter-smooth). Typing is quite good. Sound:- 3.5/5 --> Sound is crystal clear. You will be able to listen good music in loudspeaker and headphone mode as well. Voice call quality is very decent as it is having some other extra options like Clear sound/soft voice etc.

SAMSUNG S DUOS:(S 7562) SAMSUNG S DUOS is an entry level mobile from samsung with an price tag of about 10000/- this phone runs on android 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich(ICS) recently samsung has also released samsung s duos 2 also with similar price tag.this phone has an 4" display of TFT WVGA 480*800 technology with 233ppi of pixel density(this can also be seen in samsung starpro) with single core 1Ghz qualcome MSM7227A snapdragon s1 processor coupled with Aderno 200 GPU and 768Mb of RAM, 4Gb of internal memory out of which approximately 2GB is user available and consists of 1500mah LI-ION battery and 5MP camera with LED flash. DESIGN: when comming to design front this mobile resembles to the 2011-12 flagship mobile samsung galaxy s3.just a quite a thicker than s3and weighs 120gms and got 4"display with three captive touch buttons home, back, options.both power button and volume rockers are situated on right and left side of mobile respectively and memorycaRD SLOT on the lower right side, display of this phone is an finger print magnet (you need to clean it regularly after using).when backpanel is removed we can see 1500mah battery and simslots, with camera situated exacetly in the middle of the phone below which there is an LED flash for taking decent photos. DISPLAY: samsung s duos consists of an 4" display of TFT WVGA technology of 480*800 with 233 ppi, i have faced much of problem operating mobile under direct sun light due to less contrast and brightness level and display is quite reflective, but display gives nice colours(display is made of TFT technology means this consumes less power than IPs display) FEATURES: when comming to features this has got diferent types of sensors like compass, accelerometer, proximity sensor and supports wifi, wifi hotspot,wifi-802.11 bgn, bluetooth V3.0 and usbV2.0. this has got auto focus 5MP camera with LED flashand runs on touchwiz UI CAMERA: s duos has got an rear 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 0.3 MP front camera for taking selfies which is no so good in quality, photos taken in lit conditions are decently captured with 5MP autofocus camera and photos taken in dark conditions are a bit of noise inspite of having LED flash, the burst mode in this phone was tereble it was takeing about 3SEC for one pic which is very dissapointing(may be due to outdated processor) HARDWARE: when comming to hardware front this has got 1Ghz processor of qualcome snapdragon s1 processor with aderno 200GPU (this is an outdated processor) this can handel basic games we will be talking about this later this is having 768Mb of RAM.there was a slight of lag whene moving from oneapp to other PERFORMANCE: performance wise this gives an decent performance due to 1Ghz processor coupled with aderno 200 gpu of graphics front and 768Mb of RAM this can handel day to day tasks easily and got 4GB of internal memory with 2GB user available this can be increased by using externalmemory card upto 32gb GAMING: when comming to gaming front this has got 1Ghz snapdragon s1 processor coupled with aderno 200 GPU which is absolutely outdated processor,i have tested few games on tis mobile like temple run, temple run 2,angrybirds there were no frame drops in above games and in graphic intensive games like temple run oz,subway surfer etc were playable with few lags BATTERY BACKUP: If you want to buy this phone it would be better to carry any portable powerbank or battery charger with you if and only if you are heavy user.this gives of about an 6Hrs of battery backup from 100% to shutdown with continous playing games ,watching movies, listning songs, few calls and a littile bit of social networking and webbrowsing. CONCLUSION: this is an entry level mobile with 1ghz processor and 768Mb of RAM for doing day to day tasks with an ease, camera quality is quite ok,can play less graphic intensive games if you are seeing to buy a mobile under 12k then motoG,intex aquai5,micromax canvas HD will be good option than this one unless and until you are brand conscius PROS: CONS: *built quality *outdated processor *camera *batery backup *display *ocational lag

  • A typical Samsung phone which is let down because of its bloatware.
    Rajesh V Nair (May 2, 2014) on Gadgets 360
The closest relative to the S3 in terms of design, S duos is phone which is very well built. But the similarity ends there as the phone is not a performer like its cousin. Weighing in at around 120g , S duos is powered by a single core 1 GHz Cortex-A5 processor coupled with 768 MB of RAM and ADRENO 200 GPU.One cannot expect it to skyrocket the performance charts as the performace is on the lower end with occassional hiccups and crashes.Though apps run quite smoothly ,one can notice quite a lot of lag on multitasking .You get 4GB of internal memory(about 1.5GB usable) which is expandable via a micr SD card. The bright 4inch display is one of the major USP of this device. With a resolution of 480X800 (which gives a pixel density of about 233ppi) , the screen is crisp and sharp. Colors are very accurate and readability in bright sunlight is not that impressive. The rear of the phone has a 5 mega pixel shooter with an led flash and the front has a VGA shooter. The rear camera takes some good shots in well lit conditions, this is not the case in low lit conditions. Camera UI is typical Samsung with features for panorama, timer, smile shot and varioius scene modes. The menu is not rich in terms of the camera control settings for exposure,ISO etc .Videos recoded on the device are of average quality with a max resolution of 480p .If you take a lot of selfies ,you will be disappointed with rear camera photos are grainy and are washed out. Video playback is a good experince mainly because of the sharpand bright display.Music experience is a delight as the stock head phones are of good quality and a good music player app.Drawing its power from a 1500mAH battery, the phone survives just about a day of above average usage . Go for the phone for its good display, music playback quality, decent camera and build quality. But all this let down because of is slow performance of the TouchWiz UI which just spoils the experience.

  • Samsung Galazy S Duos not idol for anyone
Kapil Garg (Aug 23, 2014) on Gadgets 360
first of all i start with the pros which can easily be counted. Pros 1. The screen is good. the best thing about the phone is its screen which is nice and detailed. 2. After sale service- Samsung provides the best after sales service. I got it serviced two times in the warranty period. They didnt ask me any money. 3. Looks- Looks wise its a good phone. Now Cons 1. The touchwiz i.e. the user interference of Samsung hangs very much. It just cant resist without hanging. So i will advise you to use another launcher for this. 2. The ram is always fully used on this phone. i never have more than 100 mb ram to use. 3. hangs a lot- every game i play even, even small games like Dr. Driving. it hangs. it can be because of weak processor and not that much ram. 4. The chromium plating on the sides of the phone just get scratched and the phone looks very bad. Conclusion- I wont advice anyone to buy this phone. Really buy any indian company phone in this price range as it a waste. you will repent after buying this just like me

  • A budget phone but definitely a very poor one!
Palak Chandna (Jun 1, 2014) on Gadgets 360
Samsung galaxy S Duos is a budget phone- a fact that one can judge by a closer look at the phone itself. A spin off of the Samsung Galaxy S3, this one offers one a cheap plastic body coupled with a TFT capacitive screen- a combination which in. The ppi 223 which allows an average viewing quality and the interface is not so impressive either. When it comes to the look and appeal of its phones, Samsung really needs to roll up its sleeves because it is always the same old same old. The phone comes equipped with a 1 GHz cortex processor and 768 mb ram, both of which provide a snappy performance in the beginning while casual usage and light browsing. However this is likely to decimate over a period of six months when the user might experience lags while simply viewing a contact or reading a message. At this ram this phone is not meant for gaming. Smaller games like Subway Surfers or Temple Run also seem jittery so there is no scope for heavy gaming. The 5 mp camera is good and when handled well in bright light it can deliver some sharp clicks even. But the low light pictures are quite dull and unimpressive. Like other android phones in this budget the battery is no beast as it does not even last a day in the initial period even. A feature that deserves to be mentioned is Music Square which with the help of a grid matches your playlist with your mood. The final word on this phone is that there is not even one reason why you should go for this phone because at this price the local brands like Micromax or Karbonn offer a much better performance. And if you do not mind the Windows operating system then buy a Nokia 520 or 525 whose performance is far far better. Shed a few bucks more and lay your hands on Moto E which is a testimony to the fact that budget phones do not have to suck.

  • Worst kind a phone
PRATIK MONDAL (Jul 18, 2017) on Gadgets 360
Totally disappointed with this phone. It has already visited service centers more than 3 times, more than 3 times software updates are done. During the use it gets heated tremendously, and hangup its one of the normal features. So this phone is my horrible experience...

Devesh Tewary (Sep 19, 2013) on Amazon
Samsung Galaxy S Duos is a nice buy with all features you would want from a smartphone. I was particularly happy with the flash and the screen size (neither too big nor too small). At this price, it's a pretty good deal. My only qualm is that the processor is tad slow which mars the experience of internet browsing.
