There have been several rumours in the recent past about Sony's next flagship - expected to be named the Xperia Z3 - as well as its anticipated compact version, said to be called the Xperia Z3 Compact. Now, a purported screenshot from the Xperia Z3 Compact, and its alleged specifications, have been leaked by a Twitter user.

According to a tweet by @DooMLoRD_XDA, an XDA developer from India, the Xperia Z3 Compact will be given model number D580x, and feature a 4.5-inch 720x1280 pixel display.

Other alleged Sony Xperia Z3 Compact specifications mentioned by the tipster include a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC processor, coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It will also sport a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera.

The tipster also tweeted a screenshot image of the 'About phone' showcasing the alleged Sony Xperia Z3 Compact device running Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Earlier this week, a Chinese website, Digi-Wo, had leaked a couple of live images showing both the alleged Sony Xperia Z3 and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The website is known to have a good track record when it comes to leaking Sony phones. The images had showcased the front of the devices, with an alleged Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone seen in White, and an Xperia Z3 Compact in Black. It seems that the website only got hold of the front panel of the alleged smartphones as of now, only indicating one of the designs that Sony is considering.
