Damir Franc, a YouTube user, posted (via Xperia Blog) the video showing how quickly the Xperia X suffers from overheating issue when recording video at 1080p which leads to crashing of the camera app on the phone. The video shows both the Xperia X and Galaxy S7 recording 1080p videos at 60fps for several minutes. At 4 minutes, the Xperia X cuts down the features available to access and slows down as well. The same video shows the Xperia X camera app crashing at 9 minutes, citing the overheating issue with a pop-up message to the user. Notably, the video has now been pulled by the user.

Notably, a similar problem was reported for the Sony Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 smartphones last year. Sony had later acknowledged issue and promised a fix via software update. We can expect the company to do the same with the new Xperia X.

Coming back to the Sony Xperia X, the handset was recently launched in India. Priced at Rs. 48,990, the company only launched the dual-SIM variant of the Xperia X in India.

For specifications, the Xperia X Dual runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company's UI on top.
