It seems like the Sony Xperia SP (aka Sony C530X 'Huashan') is enjoying
all the attention it is getting. This device has leaked several times
over the
past few months. Four new pictures of this smartphone have been
posted online in which the device is placed next to Sony Xperia V.
These pictures have been posted by Android Hilfe forums and the front of
Sony Xperia SP and Xperia V can be easily seen in them.
From these
pictures it appears that Sony Xperia SP will have a slightly larger
screen than that of Sony Xperia V, which comes with a 4.3-inch display.
The folks at XperiaBlog.net believe that Sony Xperia SP may perhaps come
with 4.5-inch display. Also from the pictures it appears that Sony
Xperia SP will be running on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)
As per the
Android Hilfe forums, the person who tipped them about these pictures
also mentioned that the battery of Sony Xperia SP will not be removable.
However, the smartphone has a plastic back cover in order to insert the
SIM card and microSD card.
From the past rumours, it is expected
that Sony Xperia SP will be a mid-range smartphone which will have
1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm SnapDragon and a 720p display. The smartphone will also support LTE.
It is
noteworthy, that a leak of Indonesia's Postel Telecom had revealed that
Sony C530X 'Huashan' will be launching as Xperia SP. The same leak had
also mentioned that the company is planning to launch another device,
Sony Xperia L, which is codenamed C210X.
Given that Mobile World
Congress (MWC) 2013 is around the corner, one is certainly hopeful that
Sony Xperia SP and Xperia L will be amongst the smartphones that the
Japanese handset maker will be unveiling at that event.
