Samsung is rumoured to introduce a new feature dubbed "Smart Glow" in its smartphones. According to reports, the "Smart Glow" will be an alternative to the existing notification LED setup on the Galaxy smartphones. The new feature is expected to first debut on the Samsung's Galaxy J2 (2016).

The unannounced "Smart Glow" will be located around the camera lens on the rear and will glow when a notification pops up. The leaked document says that the "Smart Glow" will change colour depending on the priority or usage alerts, battery status, and other functions.

A leaked company document first picked up by Galaxyclub shows how the feature will work and also shows that the luminous "Smart Glow" ring will also have the "Selfie Assist" feature (via Sammobile) that will help users automatically clicking when it detects a face. Users will be able to prioritise the notification and decide the colour of the "Smart Glow" notification light.

At this moment, there is no word whether the "Smart Glow" will also be present on the Galaxy Note 7 expected to launch on August 2. A recent report suggested that the South Korean smartphone giant will pack an iris scanner on the company's next Galaxy Note phablet. There have been reports earlier claiming that Samsung was planning to include the iris scanner on this year's Galaxy Note 7.

Earlier this month, Samsung Electronics America and AT&T in collaboration unveiled the new Galaxy S7 Active. The smartphone will be exclusive to AT&T. The company also introduced the Galaxy J3 Pro in China this month.
