After being teased by Flipkart, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has been finally announced for the Indian market, priced at Rs. 26,499.

The South Korean giant confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Duos (branded as Galaxy S5 Mini in India, with no single-SIM version expected) will be available starting Wednesday, September 10 exclusively on Flipkart. Much like the Galaxy S5, the mini-variant will be available in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold colour variants.

Flipkart has also announced launch day offers for customers purchasing the Galaxy S5 Mini, where 25 lucky customers to get 100 percent cash back in a lucky draw, bundled Sennheiser HD180 headphones worth Rs. 999, and pre-selected e-books worth Rs. 2000.

Notably, Samsung had also listed the Galaxy S5 Mini ahead of any official announcement on the company's official online India store last month.

It's worth mentioning that the South Korean electronics giant unveiled the single SIM variant of the handset in July, which has identical specifications except support for two SIM cards (GSM+GSM).

The Galaxy S5 Mini features a 4.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) clocked at 1.4GHz clubbed with 1.5GB of RAM. The Galaxy S5 (Review | Pictures) on the other hand is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.

It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and packs 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The Galaxy S5 mini sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and there is a 2.1-megapixel front camera also on board.

The Galaxy S5 Mini packs a 2100mAh battery and measures 131.1x64.8x9.1mm, while weighs 120 grams. Some of the other sensors on the Galaxy S5 mini include an accelerometer, digital compass, gyro, proximity, and ambient light sensor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3G and IR Remote.

Commenting on the launch, Asim Warsi, V.P, Marketing, Mobile and IT at Samsung India said, "The Galaxy S5 Mini is yet another manifestation of the philosophy of people inspired innovation that drives Samsung products. This stylish smartphone is the perfect combination of performance and power in a conveniently compact design.
