Oppo has launched the Oppo A53 smartphone in China. However, pricing and availability details have not yet been revealed by the company.

The Oppo A53 is a dual-SIM supporting (Micro-SIM+Nano-SIM) smartphone running ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 out-of-the-box. It sports a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280pixels) resolution display with 2.5D curved glass and a pixel density of 267ppi. Under-the-hood, the handset packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with 2GB RAM.

The handset houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with CMOS sensor and LED flash, while a 5-megapixel front-facing camera is also on board. The Oppo A53 sports 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded using microSD card (maximum capacity unspecified).

Under connectivity options, the Oppo A53 features 4G LTE (supports India-based networks), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, and USB 2.0. It measures 153.90x77x7.4mm, weighs 165 grams, and is backed by a 3075mAh battery.

The company last month unveiled the A33 smartphone in China priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,500). The handset features a smaller 5-inch (540x960 pixels) TFT display with a pixel density of 220ppi. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM. The A33 features an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It bears 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It is backed by a 2400mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 250 hours of standby time and up to 8 hours of talk-time.
