It looks like LG might be finally joining the Windows Phone bandwagon as a LG-made Windows Phone has been spotted in certification as well as the company's own open source code page. Additionally, rumours point that the LG VW820 Windows Phone might launch initially on Verizon Wireless.

Dubbed LG VW820, the handset has been spotted at Bluetooth SIG listing referring to it as a 'LG mobile phone'. The listing also further cements the possibility that the smartphone might be launched soon. The Bluetooth SIG listing reveals that the LG VW820 features Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity option. LG's Open Source Code Distribution page (see below), on the other hand, has been also spotted (via Winfuture.de) to list the LG VW820 as a Windows Phone device. Details about the LG-made Windows Phone are limited as of now.

According to the German site, the LG VW820 will feature a 4.7-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display and will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (unspecified chipset) coupled with 1GB of RAM. The site also tips that the Verizon may launch the LG VW820 first, pointing out the 'VW' in the name might be referring to Verizon Wireless. Also, since the LG site listing is referring to the smartphone as a Windows Phone device, we can expect it will launch with Windows Phone instead of Windows 10 out-of-the-box.

To recall, Microsoft back in 2014 announced LG as one of its Windows Phone 8.1 OEMs. While LG is yet to make a Windows Phone 8.1-based smartphone, other OEMs like Xolo and HTC have already launched Windows Phone handsets since then.

Last year, a WP8.1-based LG smartphone codenamed LG D635 was spotted on the AdDuplex network; though later it turned out to be a test unit, and never made it to the market in the precise form it was spotted in.

We warn our readers that LG has not disclosed any plans for making a Windows Phone smartphone until now, and the above leak should be taken with a small pinch of salt.
