Lava appears set to launch a new budget smartphone in the country, with the company listing the Iris 401 on its website. Notably, no pricing or availability information has yet to be shared by the domestic smartphone manufacturer.

The dual-SIM Lava Iris 401 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, and features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixel) TFT-LCD display. The smartphone is powered by an unspecified 1.3GHz dual-core processor, coupled with a meagre 256MB of RAM.

The Lava Iris 401 bears 512MB of built-in storage, with storage expandability via microSD card (up to 32GB). The smartphone bears a 3-megapixel rear camera, apart from a VGA front-facing camera.

Connectivity options on Lava's new budget smartphone include GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, Bluetooth v3.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The listing notably does not mention the presence of an FM radio.

A 1450mAh battery powers the Iris 401, which is rated to deliver up to 9 hours and 40 minutes of talk time on 2G. The smartphone measures 126x65x10.35mm, however, the weight of the device has not been mentioned. The listing was first reported by Fonearena.

Lava earlier this month launched the Iris Selfie 50, another smartphone to cash in on the selfie trend in the market. The smartphone was priced at Rs. 7,999. The highlight feature of the Iris Selfie 50 handset is the 5-megapixel front-facing autofocus camera that comes accompanied by an LED flash.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat-based Lava Iris Selfie 50 comes with dual-SIM support, featuring one regular SIM slot and the other Micro-SIM. It sports a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core (unspecified chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
