iBall's new Cobalt Oomph 4.7D smartphone, after being listed on the company's site last week, has now been launched at Rs. 7,999.

Making the announcement on Monday, iBall says the new handset will be available to buy across India via online and offline stores shortly. The iBall Cobalt Oomph 4.7D will be available in White Gold and Black Metallic Grey colour combinations.

The dual-SIM based iBall Cobalt Oomph 4.7D smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The domestic handset brand promises that the smartphone is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

It comes with a 4.7-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display and offers a pixel density of 312ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It bears 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

The Cobalt Oomph 4.7D smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera also on board. On the connectivity front, the handset includes 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.

The smartphone packs an 1850mAh battery. The Cobalt Oomph 4.7D smartphone also features HotKnot file transfer technology, which is similar to near field communications (NFC) in terms of application. It sports a thickness of 8.4mm and features a metallic back cover.

iBall last week listed the Andi Uddaan Quadcore and Andi5 Stallion+ on its site without availability and pricing details. The iBall Andi Uddaan Quadcore, much like previous Uddaan-series smartphones, comes with safety features for women such as a built-in SOS button.
