Have you earned a red BlackBerry Z10? Apparently 12,000 application
developers have a chance to get their hands on the new limited edition
BlackBerry Z10 devices, in red colour.
As per the blog post by
the Canadian handset maker, this special edition handset is a token of
thanks for its developers who had faith in its new operating system and
helped create applications for this brand new operating system.
This
red device will be available only to the developers who have submitted
their app for the BlackBerry World and have been approved by the
Canadian smartphone maker. The company has also mentioned in their blog
post that it has extended the date to summit the app to February 28.
BlackBerry
had launched their new operating system on January 30 at an event in
New York along with two new smartphones, Z10 and Q10. There are
currently around 70,000 applications available for the BlackBerry 10
devices. However, the company is still being criticised for not having
enough applications and also the large chunk of these apps have been
ported from other platforms.
Z10 is a full-touch device
that comes with a 4.2-inch LCD screen with a 1280x768 resolution. It is
powered by a dual-core processor that clocks at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM
and an internal storage of 16GB. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera that
can capture 1080p videos and 2-megapixel camera in the front. Z10 comes
with 1,850 mAh battery.
This smartphone started retailing
in United Kingdom from January 31 in black and white colour options.
According to reports, early response to the device has been encouraging
and white version practically sold-out all across the country. This
smartphone is expected to be available in India later in February.
BlackBerry
Q10 is QWERTY device that is expected to be launched in April 2013.
According to the company, this smartphone will be available in US by
mid-May to early June.
