Google is now rolling out the Android June security update for Pixel and Nexus users. This update brings a number of bug fixes and security patches, the most notable one being a fix for Pixel users experiencing the sporadic freezing issue since sometime.

There are 21 issues resolved with this security patch dated 2017-06-01 and 80 dated 2017-06-05. Two particular patch level strings provide ‘Android partners with the flexibility to more quickly fix a subset of vulnerabilities that are similar across all Android devices.’

Factory and OTA images are already live for compatible devices. This update can be downloaded for Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, Nexus 6, and Nexus 9 devices. On the Google Product forum, an employee has confirmed that the patch also brings a fix for the Pixel freezing issue.

Also, Canadian carrier Rogers has mentioned a VoLTE fix for the Pixel and Pixel XL as well. If you’ve bought a Pixel device from Deutsche Telekom, Verizon, T-Mobile, Fi Carriers, and Roger, there are separate builds released for it.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL users have been reporting several issues ever since launch last year. From Bluetooth pairing issues, to connectivity issues, Google is addressing every issue at its own pace. Let us know if the freezing issue has curbed after downloading the patch in the comments below.
