Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL With Windows 10 Mobile Launched at CES 2016

Alcatel OneTouch on Wednesday unveiled its first Windows 10 Mobile powered Fierce XL smartphone at CES 2016. The company announced that the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will be available via T-Mobile stores in the US in coming weeks. Alcatel is expected to reveal the pricing details of the OneTouch Fierce XL on release. The company however indicates that the Fierce XL will be "affordably priced."

Much like other Windows 10 Mobile-based phones, the OneTouch Fierce XL comes preloaded with Microsoft's Office Mobile productivity suite of apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and OneDrive. Apart from the preloaded apps, the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will also pack features such as Cortana, Microsoft's digital voice assistant, and Microsoft Edge, the new default browser for Windows 10.

For specifications, the OneTouch Fierce XL running Windows 10 Mobile features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. The handset packs 16GB of storage and supports expandable storage up to 32GB (via microSD card). The 4G LTE-enabled Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL supports Category 4 speeds. It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The handset packs 2500mAh battery which is claimed to deliver up to 14 hours of talk time and up to 820 hours of standby time. The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will come with some of the T-Mobile specific features such as FCC mandated anti-theft protection and Wi-Fi calling compatibility.

Commenting on the launch, Jon Maron, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Alcatel OneTouch, "Today staying connected on-the-go has to mean more than just having voice and data connection. By perfectly showcasing more of these connected experiences like seamless workplace productivity and document storage via OneDrive as well as a powerful personal assistant like Cortana, Fierce XL with Windows 10 Mobile customers are getting more from their smartphone than they ever could before."
