Please note that this review is completely based on my opinion after using Micromax Canvas Tab p702 for the past 4 days.
I am using Micromax products for past 6 years and this is my 5th product that I am buying from Micromax. So far, I have not faced any issues/compliant with Micromax, hence when I thought of buying a tablet, my first choice was Micromax.
I was browsing over a week to find a tablet that has good configuration and with in Rs. 10000. I was able to find that Micromax Canvas Tab p702 and iBall Slide Snap 4G2 has more or less similar configuration and price and due to the trust I developed for Micromax brand over the years, I decided to buy Micromax Canvas Tab p702. However to my much disappointment, this was not available through online shopping websites and I can see “out of stock” in all websites. Not sure if Micromax has not provided enough stock of these product/ is it being sold out fast. However I was able to buy this through the website www.eocos.in - the dealer from Velachery, who delivered the product to my home.
In the Box:
2. Charger(Adaptor+ USB Cable)
3. OTG Cable
5. Screen Guard
1. Supports, 4G(Indian Bands), 3G, Voice Calling, Dual Sim (One Sim slot is Normal Sim Size and the other is Micro Sim Size)
2. Large 7” HD display, Android OS-Lollipop
3. 2GB RAM, 16GB Internal Memory (10.4 GB available for users), Memory Expandable upto 32GB (Accepts Micro SD Card)
4. Rear Camera 5MP with flash and Front camera 2MP without Flash
5. Supports OTG, USB, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Tethering and Hotspot
No other tablet offers all these features together for 8499 (MRP-8499, however I bought this for 7999 after discount) under Rs.10000 (Except Iball Slide Snap 4G2). Even Mi-Pad/ Asus Zenpad that has similar configuration with cost of 12 or 15K do not have calling features/4g support. Hence I would suggest that this tablet is really a value for money if you are looking for more features with best price under 8000.
Been using this for almost 4 days. I really liked the design of the phone-not so huge/heavy. Handling is pretty easy. I read e-books a lot and my primary purpose to go for a tablet is to read during travel however wanted to make sure that I use it as a phablet(Phone+ tablet). My friends see it as somewhat big but huge phones are of trend now. Aren’t they? The size is not so huge or awkward to use- as people started using 6 inch screen these days and this is just 7 inch but really worth it.
The “First Touch” user interface-that comes built in with in the tablet is highly useful and makes the phone and apps management clutter free. Liked it a lot. The large 7” display is very clear and bright and the multitasking and multi window options are handled smoothly and efficiently by 2GB RAM. There are few apps that comes pre-installed-however you can uninstall/disable them-if you do not require them and want to save the space.
I have not tried any games but the playing video with DT
