It isn't easy to create and promote a whole new smartphone platform. Over 84 percent of smartphones in use today run Android, with iOS a distant second at around 12 percent. That means there's just four percent of the market left for everyone else - including Microsoft, BlackBerry, and anyone optimistic enough to try their luck. We were in fact supposed to have seen a number of upstarts this year: Sailfish OS, Ubuntu Touch and Tizen, to name a few, but none of them has yet materialised in any significant form.

Intex Cloud FX Summary

The Intex Cloud FX is a super-cheap touchscreen phone that unfortunately cuts far too many corners to be considered good value for money. It's most notable for being the first device to run the new Firefox OS, but the experience is hobbled by this phone's weak hardware. You get what appears to be the functionality and interface of a smartphone, but most apps are Web-based and the phone is limited to 2G data speeds. The screen is terrible and touch response is not very smooth, largely thanks to the inordinate amount of lag in every action. The camera is as good as useless and even sound quality is poor.

  • Disappointed with very poor battery life of Intex Cloud FX!
Joy Deb (Sep 7, 2014) on Gadgets 360
I bought Intex Cloud FX with loads of expectations and one is it should come up with good battery backup breaking the drawback of Android's poor battery experience. But here is more disappointment I experienced as it runs only 1-2 hours in online mode and 3-4 hours in offline mode. The touch lags most of the time and very unresponsive touch experience. The user interface is quite okay and it's quietly easy to use. The camera comes in force after couple of seconds it takes time. The photo quality not so good but boring as it takes time to open. 1) Call: The most disappointment is lack of calling from both SIM as the phone is having Dual standby feature. We have to call from only one SIM which we will select from SIM setting. There is no option of calling from one or two.2) Screen: The screen doesn't disappoint as it is low cost smartphone under 2K.3) Touch: Touch response is disappointing specially when charging and connecting via USB with PC.4) OS: The operating system is very user friendly and there are too much option of customisation but needs to polish few things like multitasking.5) Battery: Here is the most of the drawback as hardly lasts 2-3 hours in offline mode and can assume how it would be in online mode. I need to accompany a power bank when outing.6) Look and Feel: It is where as a user I have no issue to disappoint.7) Sound: I loved the quality of sound.8) Built Quality: It comes with very good built quality. My Rating: 4/10 (Due to very poor battery backup and lack of option of call from either SIM)

  • Basic smart phone
Deepak Sharma (Oct 5, 2014) on Gadgets 360
This phone is for those users who have got bored up using budget phone and wants to catch up smart phone trend without digging deep into their pocket. Phone provides all basic features of smart phone viz. facebook, twitter, whatsapp, mail etc. One can count upon its advantages viz. low cost, user friendly, sturdy, ergonomy etc. Although few disadvantages are there, like low battery life, slow processor, touch screen which is irresonsive sometimes etc. However having regard to its low price, one should not compare above features with that of high end smart phones. Thus phone is having high quotient of cost benefit and return on investment. I am satisfied of owning the one and shall recommend others who wants to experience using smart phone. common rating on all parameters - 8/10
