Google on Tuesday launched its new Donation card for YouTube video creators. The cards will help viewers directly donate money to non-profit organisations from YouTube itself.

The search giant added that it recently rolled out donation cards to US YouTube video creators. All creators have to do is to add a donation card and pick a non-profit organisation while uploading a video. Creators can choose over 1.8 million IRS-validated 501(c)3 public non-profit organisation, Google said in a post on the YouTube Creators blog post.

Google says that the non-profit organisation will receive 100 percent of the money donated via this method. The search giant also plans to make the new Donation card available to Youtube video creators outside the US region in future.

YouTube Cards were introduced back in March last year and aimed to replace annotations, which previously appeared on a running video asking users to subscribe a channel or to click through to watch another video.

The Cards also help video creators inform viewers about other videos, playlists, websites and more. During the launch, YouTube claimed that the Cards "look as beautiful as your videos, are available anytime during the video and yes, they finally work on mobile." With the rollout of Cards, YouTube fixed one of the limitations of annotations as Cards work on desktop as well as mobiles. Some of the other cards available for users include Merchandise, Fundraising, Video, Playlist, Associated Website, and Fan Funding. Cards can also be designated to show up at any time as teasers that will appear for a few seconds - viewers who click on the teaser can view the card.
