It hasn't been even 48 hours since Google made Project Glass official and we have the first live-sighting of these much talked about augmented reality glasses. Google co-founder Sergey Brin was found wearing them at a charity dinner in San Francisco.

Rackspace executive Robert Scoble, who was first to spot these glasses, posted images of Brin wearing them on Google Plus. According to his post, Brin told him it was a prototype. He also noticed a bluish light flashing up on them, similar to what Google showed in the teaser video.

Folks at The Verge were also lucky to get close to Brin after the charity dinner and have reported that there was sometime in the actual market release, so the year-end launch rumours are a little far-fetched. Google might have showcased a fully working unit in the teaser video, but the prototype still needs a lot of work.

In other news, 9to5Google is reporting that Project Glass was initially known as Project Wingfront and the company is already having a small trial run inside the Google HQ.
