Gaana.com, the online music streaming service from Times Internet, has been revamped to offer a new look, faster search, and better discovery.

The site is now based on HTML5 and offers integration across devices as the same version supports tablets, as well.

According to the company, Gaana.com now features editorially curated playlists, celebrity playlists, professionally programmed radio streams and new social and personalisation features. It will also feature radio stations based on artist, genre and other categories. It claims that the new version of the service offers an experience that improves based on user's listening activity on the site.

Gaana.com's new user interface features different panes for new releases, featured playlists and other content that can be browsed by sliding through horizontal lists. Hovering the mouse on a slider menu located at the left side of the screen expands it and offers different options for browsing and searching through content and for creating playlists. Sub-menus in the form of drop downs have also been employed.

Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Agarwal, Business Head, Gaana said "Gaana has spearheaded the digital music revolution in India and we continue to be at the forefront of delivering a world-class, engaging, and easy-to-use service that caters to the varying music needs of our audience across the globe. Content curation and personalisation being the key to creating enthralling music experiences, we are committed to adding more such features in the coming months. Watch out for the upcoming versions of our Mobile Applications."

In our use, we found the new version of the Gaana.com service to be much faster than the previous iteration.

Gaana.com claims to offer a catalogue of two million songs, spread across Bollywood, international and regional categories, spanning 84 languages and multiple genres.
