In our weekly column, the people who head various technology companies across the globe tell us about the gadgets and apps they can't live without. This week, we caught up with the Founder and CEO of e-commerce platform HomseShop18, Sundeep Malhotra. Here's what he had to say.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
I enjoy technology and keep myself updated with the latest happenings in the tech world. I like to try out new gadgets and right now, I'm using a Dell laptop. Samsung Galaxy S4 [with] its functionality and rich features is my constant companion. iPad Air is a clear winner for me in the tablet category - its sleek design and powerful processor gives me the speed advantage.

I enjoy photography and make sure to bring along my camera while travelling. I'm using the Pentax DSLR K-30 for its impressive image quality, shooting speed and for being weather resistant. Console gaming spells family time for me, and Xbox 360 is our gaming gadget. I have a range of games from Grand Slam Tennis, to FIFA World Cup, to Need for Speed. Even today, the realism and quality of Xbox 360 games are incomparable.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Needless to say, HomeShop18 app is my most favorite app.

Another of my all-time favorite apps is the TED talks app. It presents talks from some of the world's most fascinating people across different fields of life, be they technology, medicine, business or music. Paying heed to the experiences of the speakers is a great learning experience.

In a global work milieu, I find the iTranslate app very useful. As I frequently travel, language does sometimes become an obstacle in non-English speaking countries. But with this app I can communicate by translating both words as well as phrases during business and leisure travel.

What is one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Music is my passion and so the iPod is my best ally. I enjoy music of all genres, but my favorites are modern contemporary, jazz, country and RnB. I also carry the iPad Air while travelling. It is a very handy gadget for reading books as well as [and] staying connected with important mails.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
My dream gadget revolves around my biggest passion - music. My ideal setup would be a recording studio with Bose 701-speakers, Nakamichi Amplifiers and JBL Subwoofers. A Yamaha Equalizer and a Sony Multi-Dish player will round-up my dream studio setup.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
The biggest change I see is in how streamlined and free-flowing our communication and work- exchanges have become. Technology has broken all barriers related to location and language. 'Ease of Accessibility' is a huge benefit of technology today and helps me stay connected with family, friends and colleagues, not just across the country, but around the globe in equally comfortable ways. And what's more, I feel I can do and accomplish so much more even when I'm on the move.
