The HTC Butterfly is the company's first 5-inch phone, and more importantly, the first phone to feature a 1080p display. The phone made its first appearance as the J Butterfly in Japan, and later in the US, as the Droid DNA, towards the end of 2012. Of course there were some differences in the hardware, but the basic design wasn't altered much.

  • The beast with a small Battery aka HTC Butterfly
Ishaan Khurana (May 15, 2014) on Gadgets 360
HTC butterfly was among the first smartphone to feature a full fledged 5 Inch HD display & the Sense UI is also a good addition to the overall persona of this huge smartphone also known as the HTC driod DNA in few markets of the world but in this version of the Asian Driod DNA have a memory card expansion slot as well which increase the memory of the beast to 48 GB (16 GB Internal + 32 GB Expendable). This smartphone never stops at the heaviest of the apps your throw at it contained with the mighty specs like Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU, 2 GB RAM, Adreno 320 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, it works like a breeze to switch apps never a problem, HD games on the HTC Butterfly look & feel best on the Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display. I would also suggest individuals with smaller hands let go this device as its a huge masterpiece of design with a fault; having a power ON/OFF button on the top, I too get irritated many a times to switch on the screen & hope if I had the Feature Phone like Moto X which require minimal touching. Camera on the device a 8 MP autofocus shooter which is capable of taking good images in the day as well as in the night. HD recording is also available even though you cant bring down the recording from 1080P to 720P as it takes a lot of space on the memory, leaving such issues aside the day images from the shooter were full of colour & sharpness & night images were having grains & were not in the best to be appreciated in comparison to the day images. Final word on the battery, it takes the whole pleasure of using this Great Smartphone to Total ZERO means you just dont want to open up any apps on this device if you are not sure that you would be home in the coming few hours, like i have charged this device for the whole night & i opened a few tweets & facebook pages on the move, this device loses a big number on the screen from 100% to 75% battery in just a matter of minutes. Device definitely have added few good software touches to the device like the Car App which i use all the time, this app manages your cellphone while you are driving & while using a Bluetooth device. Last but not the least is the Sense UI & BlinkFeed Feature is also a nice addition to the overall feel device in comparison to the competition. I would definitely recommend this device to office goers as they are always near a charging point & they can obviously flaunt this beautiful device & take my word it will put all the devices to shame in the display as well as performance front. Hope you like my review & please do comment
