If you haven't heard of Ubisoft before, here's your chance to get to know them better. They're the creators of the highly acclaimed Assassin's Creed franchise and other games like Ghost Recon and Just Dance. With the announcement of major titles, two of which are exclusive for the Wii U and the launch of a new IP called Watch Dogs, here's a look at what Ubisoft had up its sleeve at E3's press conference.

1. Just Dance 4 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Wii U)

The event began with a dance performance featuring Flo Rida to unveil Just Dance 4. The only thing known about this title is that it will launch on 9th October 2012 for the Wii U.

2. Far Cry 3 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC)

We already saw Far Cry 3 producer Dan Hay at the Sony press event announce a four-player multiplayer co-op mode. At the Ubisoft conference, a different gamelplay demo was revealed which looked pretty insane. The tropical island in the sequence featured the character exploring a jungle, eventually engaging in gunfights. Dan Hay also mentioned that players will now also be able to discover multiple islands featured in the game.

3. Splinter Cell: Blacklist (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC)

If you're a lover of fast paced action games, the Splinter Cell is a must on your list. Taking the series forward with Sam Fisher in the lead, Splinter Cell: Blacklist has new additional elements in terms of storyline and gameplay. While Max Beland brought along the release trailer of the game, the first gameplay demo below opens with a scene at the Iran, Iraq border. The scene is followed by demonstrating Sam's shooting abilities which now includes taking down targets quickly and efficiently while in motion. The game is due for release in spring next year.

4. Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth (Xbox Kinect and Wii U)

This one was highly expected from Ubisoft who had made the announcement official days before the event. The demo began with Wolverine engaged in a battle with Venom followed by a glimpse of other popular characters from the Marvel universe such as Spiderman, Magneto, Storm, Thor, Hulk and Ironman. The game will release this fall.

5. Rayman Legends (Wii U)

Senior game manager Michael Micholic immediately got down to business by demonstrating the gameplay for Rayman Legends on the Wii U. He was quick to add that while they're using wired controllers on stage, the final version will support wireless controllers; the Wii U tablet controller and the Wii U Pro Controller as well.

Rayman Legends welcomes a new playable character called Murphy who was shown off using the Nintendo Gamepad's touch screen. The glowing bug hovers over Rayman aiding him to move or lift obstacles which is a first in the game. Michael also stated that the game will feature a five-player co-op mode for the Wii U. With new environments to explore, the game looks highly promising for the console.

6. ZombieU (Wii U)

The Wii U is set to appeal to both amateur and novice gamers alike. And this is proved by the next exclusive Wii U title that Ubisoft unveiled called ZombieU. 'God Save the Queen' playing in the backdrop perfectly suited the slow motion graphic game trailer which featured a zombie attack. However, no gameplay footage was screened.

7. Assasin's Creed III (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Windows PC)

Every time we play an Assassin's Creed game, we wonder what the next Assassin's game will be like. Dozens of gameplay trailers, rumours and news later, the wait for Assassin's Creed III finally comes to an end. Audiences were initially treated to stunning visuals of Connor, the new assassin for the game, killing soldiers from one of the two armies at war with each other. This was followed by cinematic gameplay footage of Connor running in the snow covered woods of New England killing a deer and being attacked by a pack of wolves. As he moves deeper into the woods, Connor comes across more soldiers and he assassinates them all in true style.

8. Watch Dogs (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC)

Being developed for about three years now, Ubisoft seized the opportunity to unveil a new IP titled Watch Dogs. The game is all about hacking computer systems, using security cameras, manipulating traffic lights and jamming cell phone signals. As Aiden Pierce, your major weapons include a gun and a cell phone. It is needless to say that the game is more intelligence and strategy oriented as opposed to combat. The game is highly reminiscent of GTA (Grand Theft Auto) with its open world nature and other gameplay elements.
