Grand Theft Auto V for PC Delayed Again

Rockstar Games' much awaited PC version of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) has been delayed again. According to a post on the company's site, PC gamers can expect the latest in open-world adventure to hit the digital and physical shelves on April 14.

"Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC," the post said.

As a goodwill gesture, Rockstar Games is giving all those who have pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash to use when they finally get their hands on GTA V, after yet another delay.

The last delay had the game pegged for a March 24 release date, and prior to that it was due for a January 27 release.

In addition to the GTA V announcement, the company has also revealed a launch date for Heists. It is a new cooperative gameplay mode for GTA Online that will debut on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on March 10 as a free download. In Heists, four players can take part in a stream of robberies and raids across the game's highly detailed world.

While the announcement date of Heists is welcome, one can't help but feel that PC gamers are on the receiving end of some rather poorly managed scheduling on Rockstar's part. Nonetheless, considering how buggy Grand Theft Auto IV was at release, it's better to get a stable, relatively bug-free game that shows up later than anticipated.
