Samsung has officially launched its awaited NX mini camera in India, first introduced in March this year.

The South Korean smartphone maker has collaborated with Amazon India to sell its NX mini camera exclusively on the e-commerce site. The mirrorless interchangeable lens camera has been listed with two kit options. Coupled with the NX-M9mm F3.5 ED lens it is priced at Rs. 22,990, and coupled with the NX-M9-27mm F3.5-5.6 ED OIS lens it is priced at Rs. 27,490 respectively. Users will also receive a free camera bag worth Rs. 1,999 as a part of a launch offer.

Touted as the lightest and thinnest camera featuring interchangeable lenses, the Samsung NX mini features a large 1-inch 20.5-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, and will be available in White, Pink, Mint Green, Brown, and Black. The mirrorless interchangeable lens camera comes with a leather finish over a solid metal body, and will feature support for a total of 15 interchangeable NX lenses using a special NX-M Mount Adapter.

The NX mini has a 3-inch, 320x480 pixel (460.8k dots) touchscreen that can be flipped 180 degrees. The NX mini also features a 9-mm wide angle lens that allows the user to click a 'wefie' by winking at it. Two seconds later the camera takes what the company is calling a 'wink-shot'. The Wink Shot feature lets users wink at the camera while taking a selfie or a wefie in order to take the shot. The Samsung NX mini takes a shot automatically one second after the wink is recognised.

The NX mini can shoot pictures at 6fps in the Continuous Shot mode and also has a 1/16,000 second shutter speed for fast moving scenes. The ISO range on the camera is from 160-128000.

The NX mini features extensive storage options where users can upload pictures directly to Flickr and Dropbox. Samsung has also teamed up with Dropbox to offer 2GB of free cloud storage. Users can upload up to 1TB of images to Flickr.

In addition, the NX mini also has Wi-Fi and NFC integration. The Samsung Tag & Go feature will allow the camera to pair with other NFC-enabled devices. Users can select and transfer multiple images, control the NX mini via a smartphone, use remote View Finder Pro and can also use the camera as a baby monitor when paired with a smartphone via an app. The Photo Beam feature transfers the image seen in the camera on the paired smartphone. AutoShare is another feature that automatically saves the shot captured by the camera onto the paired smartphone as the user clicks the images.

The Samsung NX mini has a body weight of 158 grams, and a slim 22.5mm design. Three types of NX mini (NX-M) lenses that were introduced alongside the camera in March, include the NX-M 9mm ultra-slim, wide-angle F3.5 ED lens that can be used to take selfies. The NX-M 9-27mm F3.5-5.6 ED OIS micro-compact zoom lens and the NX-M 17mm F1.8 OIS bokeh lens are the other two lenses.

"This shift in our strategy is created to meet the needs of our customers who are constantly looking for the best in technology. We understand the buying patterns of our consumers and are constantly strengthening our network to cater to their evolving needs. This offering through Amazon.in will enhance accessibility for the NX mini camera," stated Asim Warsi, Vice President, Mobile & IT, Samsung India.
