Crayon Data
Chennai and Singapore-based big data startup Crayon Data has secured an undisclosed sum in a personal investment from Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. Founded by Srikant Sastri and Suresh Shankar in 2012, the startup enables enterprises to use big data to provide personalised choices to consumers.

Its flagship product, Maya is a personalisation engine that empowers enterprises to deliver ultra-personalised choices to their consumers. The startup is developing a global consumer taste fabric, which currently maps choices across 15 categories, using complex machine-learning techniques and proprietary cognitive thinking algorithms.

Naaptol
Online shopping website Naaptol has reportedly raised Rs. 343 crores from existing investor Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co. Founded in 2008 by Manu Agarwal, the Mumbai-based firm plans to expand its reach and enhance supply chain and technology.

RentMojo
Bengaluru-based rental platform RentMojo has raised $2 million in a Pre-Series A round from Accel Partners and IDG Ventures India. Founded in November 2014 by Geetansh Bamania and Ajay Nain, the firm currently operates in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Pune, and covers categories like furniture, appliances, kitchen and home utility items, and automobiles.

Sunday
Bengaluru-based Sunday, an Internet-first, private label mattresses startup has reportedly raised $300,000 (roughly Rs. 1.9 crores) in a seed funding round from a group of investors including Anand Morzaria, Founder at Pennywise. The startup offers two types of mattresses, priced at Rs. 11,990 and Rs. 21,990.

Stylofie
Styleofie, a three month old online marketplace for salons and spas has reportedly raised $250,000 (roughly Rs. 1.6 crores) in seed funding from a Hong Kong-based company Swastika. The Gurgaon-based startup lists over a hundred premium spas and salons on its website, with apps for iPhone and Android.
